Our trip to the east - Berlin, Potsdam, Leipzig
Sans Souci / Potsdam

Over the long weekend of Witsun, we travelled to Berlin together with Elaine and Richard, our friends from Singapore. It was also a perfect occasion to see Rainer’s sister Elke, who accommodated us kindly in her flat in the central area of Berlin during our stay. We left Stuttgart late Thursday evening, and although it was more than 600 km away, Rainer drove his car with a speed of up to 180 km/h through the night (thanks to German Autobahn), so we arrived in Berlin after only 5 1/2 hours including breaks :)
After doing extensive sightseeing in Potsdam on Friday, we spent the next two days in Berlin, mainly appreciating cultural and historical aspects of the German capital. We also enjoyed an evening concert with baroque music (Vivaldi and Handel) at the Berlin Philharmonic Chamber Music Hall. On Monday we spent hours having an excellent brunch with some other friends at a lovely Italian cafe in Berlin, before we finally headed back for
