Ryoanji is world famous for its Zen stone garden, featuring 15 rocks, out of which only 14 are visible at once. It is the object of faith for many adherers to Zen Buddhism.
The temple was founded in 1473 and its famous stone garden was laid out in 1499. The garden

does not include any grass or trees, only sand, stones, and moss. It offers an amazing atmosphere of tension and tranquility at the same time. It is so mysterious that many
