Music in Meinerzhagen

Reviving the old times...
20 years ago, we all performed in the same school orchestra and the same school jazz band at Friedrich-Harkort-School in Herdecke - and we were, in
Everyone in action

fact, reasonably succesful.

Before any important concerts  by our orchestra or band, we used to spend a weekend for rehearsals at the Youth Hostel in Meinerzhagen, a little city in the Sauerland, a highland region of north-west Germany, and thus it was a perfect place for  our reunion this time.

Six of us got together at the last weekend of August 2006 to bring the old times of jazz music alive again - and it was fun!

Although it was the first time since a few years ago, the quality of our music increased rapidly over time. On the other hand playing instruments was rather exhausting sometimes,  as we are not that fit anymore...
And we had a surprise visit: our former

teacher and conductor of the school orchestra, Teddy Dreier, came to visit us in Meinerzhagen over lunch. We had a lot of fun talking of the old times, especially about the  concert trips to London and Brussels at that time.

A few matches of table tennis, like we used to do, nicely rounded up the weekend.

We are looking forward to our next gathering, scheduled for  February 2007.
