End of the season 2007/2008 - Complete Victory!!! |
When we, the women’s table tennis team of SV Vsihingen 1889, won our last match of this season on 21 April, our complete victory was achived without any defeat. We had secured our advancement to the higher league in the next season already a week before, but it was important to finish up without losing any matches...
In the first round of this season, we were not very lucky with the schedule. We had only one match each in October and November, but then had to play four matches in two weeks consecutively in December. Still, we managed to remain unbeaten, winning four matches and getting two draws. In the second round we were very positive and even more united

than ever, winning all the matches. In this season, as far as the singles are concerned we did pretty the same as the last season, with our three best players (Zarah, Bettina and Nicole) performing excellently. What made different, though, was the fact that we played the doubles games much better than the last season. Particularly Bettina and Chiko have improved their performance as a pair. We are very pleased, obviously, and looking forward to playing against the teams in the next level in the coming season 2008/2009. Of course we are all aware that it wouldn’t be easy to keep our new status and we must train harder now, but we are also hightly motivated and determined not to fall back to the lower league immediately...

By the way, Chiko is especially thankful to Rainer for his constant support. He always tries to come to watch her games despite his extremely tight schedule and long working hours :)
